Momentum Issue
May 9, 2008
Momentum!
Greetings Friends:
The month of May is here. May is the month for momentum.
During our last Imagination Fund campaign we raised more than $80,000
during the month of May. I know that some of us have been putting off
making that last energetic, fundraising effort. Now is the time. The
March for Independence-A Walk for Opportunity will be here sooner than
you think. Now is the time to get engaged.
I've been hearing over the past few days from so many of our friends and
colleagues who are catching the fever, building the momentum, and
raising the dollars as we approach July 2. There is so much to be proud
of and thankful for in the National Federation of the Blind. I always
remember that the Imagination Fund is a way that we can reach out and
convey that great pride to friends and family. It is perhaps our best
vehicle to gain their understanding and contributions of support. Folks
will sponsor your entry into the March for Independence-A Walk for
Opportunity, if you ask.
I hope that this month we will all encourage our chapter, affiliate, and
division members to grab hold of the momentum, to make the asks, to
update their personal profile pages, and to shoot high.
Encourage folks at your chapter meeting this month to register for the
march if they have not, and to reach for their $250 march sponsorships.
Let's surpass the mark we set last year in May.
At Your Service,
Kevan Worley
Imagination Fund/March for Independence Committee Chair

How
Can
We
Help
You
Make Your Goal?
Maybe you have yet not to reach your $250 goal to March for
Independence with us in Dallas, Texas, on July 2, 2008. This event
promises to be bigger and better than last year, but only if everyone
makes their goals. It's time - stop procrastinating, make the ask,
personalize your Web pages, and send out your e-mails. Write your
letters and get it done! Remember, $250 gets you across the starting
line with your 2008 t-shirt, $500 - our very attractive NFB Braille
embroidered ball-cap, and $1000
- the VIP annual collector's medallion. The medallion ceremony will be
held in front of the prestigious American Airlines Center in the
high-tech Victory Park "megaplex" open-air venue. Imagine putting on
this year's commemorative medallion with Dr. Maurer and other Federation
leaders.
Don't miss out!
