Dear Friend,
The Sound Transit Board is deciding when to give the public a vote on expanded light rail, commuter rail, and express bus service.
What's your opinion, '08 or wait?
There's only one thing worse than being stuck in traffic - being stuck in traffic while elected officials and decision makers are stuck in political gridlock over what to do about it.
We're ready to help break the gridlock over mass transit in the central Puget Sound region, but we need your vote.
There's two choices for a public vote on expanded light rail, commuter rail, and express bus service: 1) this fall, or 2) 2010 and beyond. The Sound Transit Board of Directors is trying to figure out when to proceed.
Should Fuse urge them to get moving now for a vote this fall, or let them wait until 2010 or later? Please let us know what you think we should do. If our members tell us the answer is 2008, we will launch a comprehensive campaign urging Sound Transit not to wait. Please weigh in today.

The Sound Transit Board is deciding how and when to proceed on a Sound Transit Phase II (ST2) plan that includes King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties. The likely plan would nearly double miles of Link light rail (to 37 miles from 19) - including extensions to Northgate and Bellevue. It would expand express bus service by 25%, and dramatically expand Sounder commuter rail service.
If Fuse members tell us they want a vote this year, we will launch a campaign urging the Sound Transit Board to "get moving on mass transit." Fuse will generate thousands of letters, emails, and phone calls to board members, and initiate a media and new media campaign aimed at persuading the Sound Transit Board to offer voters a shot at better transit this fall.
What's your opinion, '08 or wait?
