I heard his most excellent speech at a funeral for a notable musician whose name escapes me. Almost at the end, he said, "If I can figure out how to get down from here." Part of me would have exalted if he had whipped out a cane, (who cares what kind) and walked off the stage.
By the way, his secretary is an it-Jesuit who was also a lawyer. What a combination!
Maybe we will see him as a presidential candidate in four years.

I agree with you, Kevin. While I think we should celebrate his accession
to the governorship and I agree that if the few alternative techniques
he uses work for him we should applaud, I don't quite see what the fuss
is about , at least insofar as his legal blindness is concerned in that
I cannot help but wonder if he would do better were he to adopt a few
more alternative techniques. It also sort of puts me off when we get the
usual slant from reporters that one of his virtues is that he does *not*
use techniques of blindness when, in fact, the ultimate goal of at least
those in the Federation is for the techniques of blindness to be
accepted as not being remarkable and, essentially, not to be noticed any
more than one might notice use of contact lenses.
