Fellow Federationists:

Gary Mackenstadt visited the site of our fall convention, the Holiday
Inn in downtown Everett this afternoon. He says it's an outstanding
facility with plenty of meeting space and other amenities. He has
completed the final negotiations for our fall convention and will sign
the contract as soon as he receives it.

We made one change to get better arrangements: we've moved the dates of
the convention. it will now take place October 31, November 1 and
November 2, 2008. Everything else is as stated in my previous message --
room rates are $85 per night plus tax, one to four persons in a room.

As indicated in the earlier message, there is, indeed, an espresso stand
in the lobby and a nice restaurant. The bar stays open until midnight.
There is an indoor pool and hot tub, both of which are open to adults 24
hours per day. Kids must be out of the pool by 10:00 p.m. I believe
there is also a fitness center.

The rooms have coffee pots as well as other amenities.

The hotel is close to the AMTRAK and Grayhound stations and if
arrangements are made in advance, the hotel will shuttle people from
these venues.

More specific information such as how to make reservations and other
costs will be forthcoming as the convention dates draw nigh.

Start saving your sheckles. Let's make this a great convention!
