Hi, all.

Even if you don't get around to responding to the survey below by the
deadline, we want to hear from you. So, as Lawrence Welk used to say:
"Keep those cards and letters coming!" -- figuratively, anyway.

Subject: [nfbwatlk] Survey: Spring Leadership Seminar

  Fellow Federationists,

Believe it or not, February is almost upon us, which means that our
annual
Spring Leadership Seminar is also on its way. Below, you will find a
short
survey that will play a major part of planning the agenda for this
conference. In other words, by answering these questions, you'll be a
fundamental part of creating an agenda that's informative, innovative,
creative, and fun. So, let's get to it then.

  Your Past Experiences

  1. Think about all of the leadership seminars that you've attended
both
inside and outside of the Federation. These might include team
building and
personal growth seminars, ropes courses, Federation seminars and
conferences, and work-related activities. What worked? In other words,
what
activities and discussions gave you some food for thought and/or left
a
significant impression on you? Why? Can you briefly explain the
procedure
  for these activities/discussions?
  2. Again, think about the leadership seminars you've attended. What
didn't work? What activities and discussions do you feel could have
been
left out or changed to be more interesting and thought provoking?
  3. What activities would you like to see in our Spring Leadership
Seminar? What activities do you hope not to see on our agenda?

  Our Affiliate

  1. What strengths do you feel our affiliate possesses as a whole?
Examples might include anything from strong leadership to innovative
programs. Feel free to write anything you can think of.
  2. What things could we work on to improve in our affiliate? Again,
the
array of possible answers is broad.
  3. Now, think of your chapter. What strengths and areas for
improvement
do you see on a local level?

  Chapter/Affiliate development

  1. What information do you see as being extremely valuable for every
leader in our affiliate? This might include philosophy, history,
chapter
building, fund raising, and/or obtaining public awareness of the NFB.
How
would you like to see these issues discussed in our seminar?
  2. On a personal level, what leadership skills and abilities would you
like to develop? Is there a way our seminar can help you to develop
these
skills? Skills and abilities range anywhere from mentoring to public
  speaking.
  3. Are there any skills of blindness that you'd be interested in
learning/reviewing such as carrying a tray in a cafeteria, dealing
with the
  public, or basic cane technique?,
  4. Do you have any questions regarding the National federation of the
Blind, our chapters and affiliate, or our philosophy? What other
questions
would you like to see answered in our leadership seminar?

  Final Comments?

Many thanks for your participation in this survey. All of your answers
will
be compiled and arranged to meet the needs and interests of our
membership.
Please send your answers to me off list by e-mailing them to
blindjedi at clearwire.net. Ideally, I would like to have your responses
by
7:00 pm on Friday, January 25th.

  Most Respectfully,

  Jedi
