[nfbwatlk] car insurance

Carl:

While I am sure that your insurance policy allows others to drive your
truck from time to time, I'd bet that Cathy is shown as the primary
driver. But differential rates based solely upon the fact that the owner
of the car is blind are contrary to best practice these days if not to
the Human Rights statute.

  Lauren,
Something seems out of whack here. Have you talked to the office of
the
  state insurance commissioner?
Why is it any business of anyone that you are blind? Don't you just
want to
insure your vehicle? We carry auto insurance, not driver insurance.
I
really don't know a lot about the subject, but our insurance allows
other
licensed drivers to operate our truck.
And I've known many blind people who kept their cars because it was
easier
and cheaper for friends and family members to use when running
errands, etc.
