EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Position Open
Sherwood Community Services, a non-profit agency established in 1963, is
seeking an Executive Director. Our mission is to "Provide innovative,
inclusive services for children and adults with disabilities in their
communities throughout Snohomish County" Programs include employment
options for adults with developmental disabilities; community-based
developmental therapy services for infants and toddlers; and integrated
childcare/preschool services for children 6 weeks to 12 years. Sherwood
is Located in beautiful, family-friendly Lake Stevens which offers
affordable housing and a quality school system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Provide ongoing financial management planning oversight.
Present an annual agency budget for approval by the Board. Ensure the
agency operates efficiently and within its annual budget. Work to
develop new avenues for funding and monitor existing revenues.
* Pilot the agencies strategic plan and provide ongoing evaluation
of agency services.
* Negotiate contracts for agency services while continually
evaluating agency policies and procedures ensuring compliance with
applicable laws and contract expectations.
* Provide Board of Directors with timely information and analysis
on matters pertinent to the agency to enable them to fulfill their
policy-making responsibilities.
* Employ high ethical standards and establish credibility
throughout the organization as an effective problem solver. Supervise
the collaborative leadership of senior management staff and advance the
continuing development of all staff.
* Advocate and provide leadership to national, state and local
policymakers on disabilities issues. Stays current on national, state
and local legislation.
* Serve as spokesperson for the agency and acts as liaison for
Sherwood Community Services within the community and with other
agencies. Cultivate Board, community and donor relations.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum: bachelors level degree (preferred: masters level degree
or higher) in social work, public or business administration or related
field with four years experience in the non-profit field. Extensive work
experience may be substituted for education.
* At least three years successful supervisory experience.
* Experience in financial management of an annual budget of at
least 1.5 million and administration of multiple contracts and grants.
* Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, personnel
management, program development, fund-raising, and the execution and
evaluation of programs and staff.
* Familiarity with public and private resources for
agencies/services of individuals with disabilities.
