I agree with Mike and Jim. Looking at it from the perspective of the person
working the counter, it is job one for them to get people moved through the
line as quickly as possible. That is first, last, and always in their job
description. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying I can understand how
a request to have a menu read in a fast-food line can cause some level of
irritation. I always try and be somewhat aware of what I want before I go to
a place like Mac's or BK or KFC, it just makes things flow much easier. Of
course, a lot of this fuss and bother could be alleviated if these
establishments offered Braille menus, and I don't mean like those rinky dink
menus on the wall Mac's has had in the past. Another option would possibly
be to set up a system where you pick up a telephone and are presented with a
menu similar to the Tell Me system, and make your selections that way. Just
a thought. In any event, I really want a burger now.
