Yeah, you wouldn't think it would be a hot item.  Thirty-eight years!  That's amazing!  Planned obsolescence cffeates economic security.  (grin)

I just loaned Stacy one of my telescoping canes to see if she likes it.

Alco,
I had to lose my first Rain Shine cane in order to buy a new one.  I'd had 
it for 38 years and left it on the back of our pickup truck at the super 
market.  It had to have fallen off in the parking lot, but I checked back 
several times and no one ever turned it in.  I keep wondering just what 
someone thought, as they picked up a lost white cane and took it home.
