I love the Rain Shine but I find after all the years I have used a lighter cane, that its heaviness is something I have become unused to. However, Rain Shines are virtually indestructable.

Jim,
You make the case I've advocated for years. If you want something light
weight, sexy looking and easy to tuck out of the way, and out of public
sight, by all means get the tricky folding or collapsible cane.
But if you are a serious traveler and you want a tool that is reliable and
one that will not fall apart on you, lose it's tip, break it's cord, crack
and splinter if closed in a door, and will also give you support in event
you slip on the ice or trip over your own big feet, then it's Rain Shine
solid fiber glass canes all the way.
Seriously, I love the heft of the cane. It gives me more information than
any of the light-weight, sexy canes. The complaint some folks have over the
inconvenience of not being able to tuck it out of sight is far outweighed by
its effectiveness as a travel tool.
Go Rain Shine!
Carl Jarvis
