I went to see the movie Blindsight today. I usually do not like audio
description, but in this particular instance, it was very helpful, as much
of the conversation was in Tibetan and Chineese.

If you go to: www.seattleweekly.com, you can read a review of the movie.
The reviewer felt that the Americans were "self-absorbed" and "clueless". I
didn't get the self-absorbed part, but Eric and his companions did not
realize how little rock climbing training these students had had. (Go
figure). Anyway, I don't want to give the ending away. Let's just say that
this movie would be a gold mine for phyilosophy discussion. One jarring
thing about the movie were the flash backs which interrupted the flow and
made the effect of the film a bit choppy.

Does anyone know what Eric does when he isn't climbing mountains and talking
about it? Just curious.

Today there were only three of us in the theater. The movie was competing
with the gorgeous weather and the Dalai Lama as well as a Green Festival.
It will be here until next Thursday. There was someone at the entrance
taking a survey about people's reactions to the movie. I guess Wcb was out
in force last night to support it.

I am going to inquire about purchasing it with the audio description because
it is crucial to understanding the movie.
