TABS Annual Spring Conference

Alamo City to host leading Blind Student division of Texas

The Texas Association of Blind Students annual spring conference is
coming to San Antonio April 18 through the 20, at the Hilton Airport Hotel.
TABS is a nonprofit organization and a division of The National Federation
of the Blind of Texas that is devoted to the betterment of all blind
students. The organization travels around the state holding conferences
dealing with blindness related issues.
This year TABS is coming to the Alamo city with a slate full of
valuable information and fun activities for all. A long with the speeches
about success in college, updates on accessible technology from the
businesses themselves, UTSA will be present hosting a resume builder
session. Also making a special appearance will be San Antonio’s own Freddy
Hernandez putting on a show on Saturday evening.
“We want for our members and general public to come out and not only
learn about the organization and different product advances, but we also
want for our members to enjoy themselves.” Jose Martinez said, president of
TABS. “Which is why we are trying something different, with a weekend
conference, a dance and a Comedian, and who better then Freddy Hernandez.”
TABS is a great resource for blind students of all ages. Sense 1990, TABS
has led the way in the independence and advocacy of blind students
throughout the state. This year’s spring conference is sponsored in part by
Crystal Vision. For more information on the Texas association of Blind
Students, or the spring conference, visit their Web site at
