Subject: [tovi] Request from TOVI Education Reform Committee

Hello Colleagues,

As our Committee prepares the final phase of TOVI and OM specialty
endorsement applications, we need your help. We need support letters
from Special Education Directors in local districts. We can also use
support letters from other organizations and parent groups of which some
of you may belong. We are particularly interested in an NFB member
assisting us in obtaining a letter of support. Support letters should be
addressed to:

Professional Educator Standards Board

600 S. Washington Street

P.O. Box 42736

Olympia, WA 98501

The letter should speak to the need and value of having Washington
recognized endorsements for teachers of the visually impaired and for
orientation and mobility instructors. The reasons could be to recognize
the specialty of this training, to help identify qualified teachers, to
help recruit new teachers, and to help support the creation of an
in-state university training program for such professionals. The end
result to be ... creating more of these individuals to address our
current teacher shortage.

The letter should be mailed to me because we will include it in our
application packet.

My address is:

Jamie Baggett, Chair

TOVI Education Reform Committee

5009 150th Place SW

Edmonds, WA 98026
