Date: Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Place: The Olympic Center, 222 Columbia St. NW, Olympia

Purpose: Launch of 'Say Hey Olympia' - an informal quarterly
networking reception to welcome 'new' professionals with disabilities
to our community

Say Hey Olympia is a new networking opportunity that will be held
quarterly to welcome professionals with disabilities to our community.
Our first event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2 from 6-8 p.m. at The
Olympic Center in downtown Olympia.

Say Hey Olympia will be hosted by a group of partners working together
to make sure their workplaces and our community is able to attract, hire
and retain a diverse workforce. The event will bring together
professionals who are new to the area with a more established (as
opposed to "old") "welcoming brigade". Attendees will include community
leaders, corporate and government representatives, community
organizations and individuals willing to help make the honorees feel
more connected with our community.

What do you need to know?

* Say Hey Olympia is an informal reception to honor new
professionals with disabilities who have arrived in the Olympia area
during the last 18 months or so.

* If you are new to the area or know someone new, please contact
Lynnae Ruttledge at (360) 725-3610 or by email: ruttllm at dshs.wa.gov to
be added to our growing email invitation list and to be introduced
October 2.

*     The event will be from 6 - 8 p.m. We will provide non-alcoholic
beverages and snacks. We will be doing introductions at 6:30 as a part
of the program each quarter.

* Everyone who supports diversity is welcome to be part of the
welcoming brigade. Please plan to come and support a community that
embraces diversity and welcomes individuals with disabilities in the
workplace & community.

* There will be an information table if you would like to share
information about upcoming events, community resources and what's going
on. This will be an accessible event so please provide materials in
alternate format to assure that everyone is able to benefit.

* The Olympic Center facility is accessible; sign language
interpreters will be available throughout the event; the Olympia Transit
station is nearby.

* Please share this invitation with your networks. Say Hey Olympia
is an event being developed by and for professionals with disabilities
and their allies. We want to spread the word far and wide!

* The Olympic Center is centrally located downtown at 222 Columbia
St. NW

       http://www.ci.olympia.wa.us/cityservices/par/olympiacenter/

What do you need to do?

connect individuals with disabilities who come to work in our community.

Save the Date!

* Be watching for the email reminders with the **Save the Date** to
confirm the 2008 dates and location. We plan to hold Say Hey Olympia on
a consistent day, time and place throughout 2008. Say Hey Olympia will
