NWABA President Shelley McCloud 

 

(Vancouver, Washington) - The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes would
like to inform our supporters that we are fully supporting our President and
incorporator Ms. Shelley McCloud. As many of you may know, Shelley is under
investigation by the schools administration for alleged harassment and abuse
of a developmentally disabled student at The Washington State School for the
Blind (WSSB). We can not give you any further information on this matter
because the investigation is in progress.

 

Our organization will have no part in the investigation. This is a matter
between the school, Shelley & student's family. This does not change the
mission of NWABA. It will not affect the daily operations of our
organization. We thank you all for your support up to this point and hope
that you will continue to support Ms. McCloud and NWABA through this tough
time. We must all remember that we can not pass judgment on someone simply
because they are under investigation. We all must wait until the time that
the investigation concludes to make our final opinions.
