Greetings,
I'm reading about the upcoming Seattle chapter student social, and it is exciting! Since that will be from 4:00-6:30 or so, you guys might be looking for something to do later on that evening, correct? Well, I'd like to invite all of you to attend a concert that I'm producing under the sponsorship of the Seattle Folklore Society. From down town, all you'll need to do is take a bus to North Seattle's Phinny Ridge neighborhood center and enjoy a C anadian group called Tiller's Folly. I've been working with this group for a little under a year, and I'm thrilled that they're finally going to have a concert here. I'm honored that the Seattle Folklore Society believed in me enough to allow me to go through with this project. You're in for a treat. It is also a CD release.
So, after the social, please come and hear what all the talk is about! You won't regret it. Below is the blurb written for the Seattle Folklore Society Flyer. Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

For a decade, Tiller's Folly has captivated audiences with exceptional musicianship and a progressive acoustic roots sound that encompasses elements of Celtic, bluegrass, folk, and popular music. The rousing vocals, dynamic acoustic guitar and classic songwriting of Bruce Coughlan, the layers of creative colour added by multi-instrumentalist, Nolan Murray, and the driving foundation laid down by bassist Laurence Knight produce a high-energy, entertaining live show. Seattle fans will be able to catch this dynamic concert when Tiller's Folly perform at the Phinney Ridge Neighborhood Center on October 6, 2007, at 7:30 PM.
To celebrate their tenth year, Tiller's Folly have released a new CD, "A River So Wide." The new CD features songs that speak eloquently of the human condition, and tap into a gamut of emotions covering the essence of North American life. "A River So Wide" will personally be released to Seattle audiences at this show!
Tiller's Folly has released an impressive catalogue of material, covering a broad palette of the finest acoustic music, including six CDs, videos, and a complete DVD/CD package. Their CDs have topped sales charts, and both albums and individual songs have been nominated for and received awards and distinctions. Highlights include: "A Ripple in Time" picked as the top CD by the Indie Acoustic Project in 2003; "Water at the Bar" voted the Top 5 Celtic Song of 2006 by "Just Plain Folks"; "McCulloch's Wonder" listed as one of the Essential 75 songs of Canadian Folk by iTunes, and their DVD "A Fine Kettle of Fish" featured numerous times across Canada on the Knowledge Network in 2006. Based out of GreaterVancouver, Tiller's Folly continues to shine a unique and poignant spotlight on their beautiful Pacific Northwest home.
Admission for the October 6th concert is $14, $12 for SFS and PNA members, and seniors. Please make reservations by telephone, 206-528-8523 or on the SFS website.
