Below is an e-mail from Nurse Lorane of WSSB since 1972. Many of you
are former WSSB students so I thought you would be interested.

Subject: fond farewell
Dear WSSB Staff and Students, (former and present)
After much thought, soul searching, and with mixed emotions I have
decided to retire from WSSB this summer.
I began working here in the fall of 1972, when I was pregnant with my
youngest son. Things have changed a bit since then. After my son was
born in the spring of 1973 I would come to work with him in a back pack,
(not the kind you carry your school books in, but one made especially
for babies) and he would sleep & play in a large stainless steel crib in
the Nurse's Office in Richardson Hall. Of course at that time I was
working as an Intermittent Nurse, so I was not here five days a week.
Well, my son is now 34 years old, and that works out to be 35 wonderful
and precious years as a school nurse at WSSB for me! WSSB has always
felt like an extended family. In fact, whenever people ask me about WSSB
I always tell them it is like one big close-knit family. I have many
wonderful memories of students, staff, and campus happenings.
I want to wish all of you a fond farewell, and to let you know that I
plan to return as an Intermittent Nurse sometime next fall. So, as the
circle completes itself, I will once again resume an intermittent
nursing position.
With my love and blessings to each and every one of you! Sincerely,
Lorraine Delahoyde
