Job Announcement
Title: Surplus Sales Coordinator
Reports to: Materials Manager
Hours: Part Time, 20 hours/week (flex)
Job Summary:
To carry out direct sales and marketing activities and to develop
alternate channels to sell, liquidate or dispose of excess inventories.
Job Duties
a.. Conduct market and technology research to identify most effective
distribution methods.
b.. Plan and prioritize sales activities and customer/prospect
contact.
c.. Plan and conduct promotional activities as needed.
d.. Leverage existing infrastructure and processes. (e.g. LH WEB
sites)
e.. Identify, evaluate and present opportunities with outside
organizations.
f.. Identify, research and present opportunities with industry and
other pertinent publications.
g.. Work closely with Materials and other departments to identify and
prioritize excess/surplus products.
h.. Work with Marketing/sales personnel to share leads/collaborate on
specified sales project.
i.. Respond to and follow up on sales inquires.
j.. Develop and implement appropriate measurement to assess program
effectiveness.
General Qualifications
a.. Some success with a selling experience (Not more than 2 years as
this is a starting role)
b.. Experience in cold calling, prospecting and qualifying leads
preferred.
c.. Strong written and verbal communication skills
d.. Creative, has initiative and can constructively navigate mine
fields.
e.. Strong familiarity with e-commerce's competitive landscape
preferred.
f.. Experience in a high-tech/e-commerce environment
g.. Familiarity with Liquidators or Over-Stock programs and sources a
strong plus.
