Subject: UW Bothell's Initiative for Creativity Performance and Research
Presents: Lynn Manning Jan 24-27

Lynn Manning will be the campus' Artist in Residence from Jan. 24 through
27. Manning is an award winning playwright, poet, actor, and has been
totally blind since 1978, when he was shot in the face by an unknown
attacker. Manning is currently serving his third year as California Arts
Council's Artist in Residence with the Mark Taper Forum as part of the
Taper's "Other Voices Project."

During his residency, Manning will share part of his one person show,
"Weights," which traces Manning's life from his impoverished childhood in
South-Central L.A. to the present through poetry, music and narrative. This
powerful play penetrates the inner spirit within all of us to address
adversity in times of extreme hardship.

The UWB community is invited to participate in the events during Manning's
time on the UW Bothell campus. These events include;

*	7:30 PM January 24th: Lecture/ Demonstration in the North Creek
Café; Reservations recommended.

*	3:30-5 PM January 25th: Panel Discussion on Diversity and Creativity
