Assistive Technology Loan Officer (80% FTE)
Are you personable, organized and detail oriented? Interested in
microlending as a strategy to improve access to technology for people with
disabilities? The Washington Assistive Technology Foundation ("WATF") is
seeking a Loan Officer to help manage its Assistive Technology Access Fund.
The ideal candidate will have a strong back ground in assistive technology
and a willingness to learn about community development lending.
About WATF
WATF is a certified community development financial institution (CDFI) that
provides low interest loans for assistive technology ("AT"), home and
vehicle accessibility modifications and equipment needed by entrepreneurs
and employees with disabilities for home-based employment. In addition to
loans, WATF provides information and referral on the selection and use of
assistive technology, other funding sources for AT, credit repair and
financial literacy education.
Assistive Technology Loan Officer Position
Under the direction of WATF's Executive Director, the Assistive Technology
Loan Officer will assist with the administration and expansion of WATF's
Assistive Technology Access Fund.
Job Responsibilties
* Client Intake: Respond to inquiries and questions about WATF's low
interest loans for assistive technology; follow up with potential loan
applicants
* Assist clients with information about and access to appropriate AT &
funding resources
* Assist clients with preparation of Assistive Technology and home and
vehicle loan applications
* Analyze loan applications, prepare credit memo's for review by Loan
Fund Manager and WATF's Loan Review committee
* Prepare closing documents and finalize approved loans
* Prepare UCC filings
* Service loans - maintain records of client payments; send out
statements, maintain communication with clients
* Reporting - Assist with preparation of reports to Board and Federal
and Private Grantors.
* Marketing - assist with outreach and marketing of WATF's loan program
* Program Development - assist with further development of WATF's loan
and financial literacy education programs.
Qualifications
* Strong background in and/or direct experience with assistive
technology, home and vehicle modifications
* Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn about community
development lending
* Personable; well organized; ability to multi-task; detail oriented
* Proficiency in Word, Access and Excel
* AA or BA preferred
Application Procedures & Salary
This 80% (32 hr/wk) position is open until filled with a salary
$25,000-$32,000 depending upon qualifications. WATF will actively support
Flex-Time where it is reasonable and practical to do so and where
