Here in north Seattle 13 of the 25 lower units in my complex ?have been flooded, all but one requires immediate move out so that units can be cleaned and sanitized, and carpets and sheet rock replaced, electrical checked out and repainted.? I am among the lucky 12 who did not get flooded.? One ?top floor unit had water in light fixtures from a small roof leek? Red Cross has been out to help people with temporary housing, clothing and food.? The city has been here in several capacities because of the flooding.? Now when I move I think I will try to get a second floor unit.? All roads around here were closed for several hours, because of the flooding which meant bus service was at least a half mile away and spotty at best untill about 3:30. Today was windy, and still very soggy in places, but thankfully not flooding.

Just damp as hell down here in Vancouver although I-5 both ways is closed from
just past Chehalis to just below Olympia and there's a wash-out preventing
north- and south-bound AMTRAK trains from doing there thing just a bit north of
here. Otherwise, no damage that I can figure; its worse up north and on the
Oregon and Washington coasts.

Did we all make it through the storm??
I talked with folks in Aberdeen and learned that the entire area is out of
power.? They are in their 80's, but said they'd dressed warmly and were doing
just fine on tuna fish and white bread.? Yuk!?
Out here on the Great Olympic Peninsula, we had about 9 inches of snow.? But
just about the end of the Sea Hawks game the snow became rain.? And such rain it
was.? It is still raining.? I walked down the road to Rippley Creek and was
amazed at the roar coming from that gentle stream.? But we only had a few
branches over the road and no trees down close to our house.? I'll have to wait
until it calms down a bit before I hike up to the water tank to check out that
trail.?
Poor little Raccoons.? They huddle on the deck, pressed up against the wall of
the house.? I wonder if I opened the door a crack if they'd sneak in to dry
their tiny toes??
Stay dry, warm and safe.?
Carl Jarvis
