Subject: [rehab] Marching Band for Independence March
Good morning!
I'd like to share some information with you about an exciting
opportunity at our upcoming March for Independence.
Zena Pearcy asked me to share this message with you.
Have a wonderful day!
----
We are seeking your assistance in reaching blind people who would be
interested in playing instruments and marching in an NFB marching band
during the NFB March for Independence. If you know someone who plays a
brass, woodwind or percussion instrument, please pass this announcement
along to them. They need not have marched before, but marching
experience would certainly be welcome and helpful. They can be young or
old-as long as they feel they can play their instrument and march the
3.1 miles.
We will register as a group within the march and seek pledges as a
group. We are working on ways to provide instruments for the march if a
marcher cannot bring his/her own instrument. There are many other
logistical questions which a potential marcher may have. Please refer
anyone who is interested to Wayne Pearcy. He can be reached at
318-237-3028 or e-mailed at
thetrumpetking at gmail.com
We are very excited about the NFB Marching Band, but time is very short!
Please help us get the word out as soon as you can. We have a handful of
marchers already, but we are anxious to fill the band up.
This will be great fun! It will be a confidence boost for the marching
participants! It will help the public see blind people in a different
light and therefore change what it means to be blind!
Thanks so much for your help.
