The Early Intervention Training Center for Infants and Toddlers with
Visual
Impairments created a professional development module on
Developmentally-Appropriate Orientation and Mobility for infants and
toddlers with visual impairmentrs that is now available free to
practitioners and families at

http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM5.cfm
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM5.cfm>
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM5.cfm> >

The module is divided into five sessions that are listed below and there
are
about 60 different handouts. Some of them are probably appropriate for
families. Tanni Anthony, Susan Shier Lowry, and I were the authors of
this
module.

Session 1: Foundations of Developmentally Appropriate Orientation and
Mobility <http://www.fpg.unc.edu/%7Eedin/Resources/modules/OM1.cfm
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM1.cfm> >
Session 2: Sensory Development
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/%7Eedin/Resources/modules/OM2.cfm
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM2.cfm> >
Session 3: Cognitive Development
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/%7Eedin/Resources/modules/OM3.cfm
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM3.cfm> >
Session 4: Motor Development and Movement
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/%7Eedin/Resources/modules/OM4.cfm
<http://www.fpg.unc.edu/~edin/Resources/modules/OM4.cfm> >
Session 5: Assessment

I hope you find these resources helpful.

Warmest Regards,

Deborah Hatton
