Thanks.  $250 per unit doesn't seem like a big amount to the folks who 
manufacture such items.  But to those who are struggling to put food on the 
table, keep the winter chill out, and a roof over their heads, it is a major 
purchase.  Cathy and I provide rehab services to people who are forced to 
choose between a full stomach or the meds that keep them alive.  New 
technology, even as low cost as $250, always discriminates against the poor. 
And we certainly have our share in the blind community.
As you describe the receiver, it also becomes a challenge for people with a 
hearing loss.  So it appears that there is plenty of room for improvement 
before many in the blind community will use them.  Still, the first airplane 
didn't get you from Kitty Hawk to Chicago.  And I hear the meal service was 
lousy.
