One more thing and then I'll shut up on this subject.
For many years you could turn on the radio or the TV and get play by play
coverage of the Mariners. But in recent times the TV side has become much
more a gab session. There are times when several plays go by without Dave,
Rick or Ron mentioning what's happening. And what's happened to the volume
these past several years. No, my hearing is not fading. If I switch
channels the volume is over whelming. But the game broadcast seems to drift
down to a soft whisper at times.
Many of our older clients are serious fans of the Mariners. They love the
game but become frustrated over what they call "the mumbling" by Dave and
others. I sent several emails to the Mariners relaying this concern, but
never received a reply.
And my final gripe is the many times that we are switched to a commercial
break and when we return we find that one or even two pitches have already
been thrown. Once the opposing player was rounding second base on his way
home. I can only assume that he hit a homer since I was busy learning all
about insurance sold by a strange duck.
