Dear Fellow Federationists:





            I offer information to help in planning your Washington
Seminar experience for 2007.  This is a very important Washington
Seminar because we are starting a new Congress.  Many of you know that
there has been a significant change in the representation of both the
U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.  Our agenda is
designed to change the lives of blind Americans. It is critical that we
introduce it to both the new members and those who continue to represent
us.



            As usual, the kickoff to the Washington Seminar will be our
Great Gathering-In meeting which will start promptly at 5:00 p.m. on
Monday, January 29, 2007, and end at 7:00 p.m.  Over the next three
days, you will have scheduled appointments with all of your members of
Congress including your two Senators and all Representatives.  At the
present time, I am working to determine the issues we will take to our
members of Congress and developing the fact sheets we will use for their
presentation.



The following message comes from Diane McGeorge who organizes much of
the logistics of Washington Seminar.



"Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible."  We need to
have reservations no later than December 27, 2006.  Here is the
information I will

need to make your hotel reservations.



1. Your Date of arrival and departure.



2. First and last names of any roommates that might be sharing with
you.  Please spell first and last names of each person sharing the room,
and please include arrival and departure date for each person.



3. Please specify if you wish a smoking or nonsmoking room, and how
many beds you wish to have in the room--for example, two beds, one queen
bed, or one king bed.



4. Please indicate if you wish any special accommodations such as
an accessible room.



5. If you wish a refrigerator in the room, there will be an
additional $5 charge per night.



6. If you request a rollaway bed, there will be a $10 charge per
night.



            The rates are $139 for single, double, triple, or quad
rooms, and the tax is 14.5% per night.  The address of the Capitol
Holiday Inn is 550 C Street, SW.



            Please do not contact the hotel to make your reservations.

there will be a number of very interesting seminars and meetings held
prior to the Gathering-In.  Some will be during the day on Monday, but
others will occur on Sunday, January 28, 2007.  Be sure to watch

Also, if you plan to conduct a seminar during the Washington Seminar,
