I knew nothing about "creating" the cards. Thanks for the tip. If I
have problems, I guess I can have my poll worker make a new cared?

Hi Ben,

Most of the time, the problem is with the poll worker who may not have
remembered the training. At least with the Dibol machines here in King
County, when they are creating the card, the person needs to make sure
that the "Audio" box is checked. I ran into the same problem today when
the card was inserted into the machine, the machine would not talk. They

had to "re-create" the card and this time, made sure that the "Audio"
(or it might be audible) box was selected. When I inserted the card the
next time, no problem. I will be calling the hotline in a minute.

Good Luck everyone. Just make sure the card is created correctly and you

should not have problems...but then again gremlins LOVE to play with
that equipment <g>

impression it was for problems encountered, but was told at our
convention that we might call to report successes too. We need to know
the type of machine used.

experiences others have had. I know that in the fall, one voter had
problems at the polling place I went to, but I had no problem at all.
Today, that same polling place couldn’t get the machine to come
across with speech at all. I won’t be voting there, since I am at
a new polling place. I’ll be interested to see if I can vote
without problems.
