Understanding General & Special Ed Funding
November 8, 2006
General Meeting of the Seattle Special Ed PTSA
Roosevelt High School Library
1410 NE 66th St.
Seattle, WA 98115
Guest Speakers: Cecile Lindquist & Christie Perkins
Don't be misled by the media! Come find out how general and special
education are really funded in Washington State. The Washington State
Special Education Coalition was formed in 1977 to bring parent and
professional organizations together in a spirit of cooperation to share
information, explore issues and effectively advocate for quality
education for all children, particularly for those with special needs in
Washington State. Christie Perkins, Legislative Chair, and Cecile
Lindquist, founding board member and co-creator of special education law
at the state and national level, will present a straightforward
presentation about how funding is done in WA state and what you can do
to advocate effectively for improvements.
