Presentation by Peg Staeheli, Principal - SvR Design Company
DESIGNING for PEDESTRIANS
at the "Feet First University" lecture series.***

WHEN: Wednesday, June 7th, 5:00-6:30 p.m.

WHERE:
Vance Building, 6th Floor Conference Room
1402 Third Ave, Seattle

WHO:
Peg Staeheli, ASLA, LEED AP is principal and co-founder of SvR Design Company, a firm that is leading the Puget Sound region in the implementation of low-impact and people-centered site design. Under her and her co-principal's direction, SvR was among the first firms in the nation to design all natural drainage design, roof-top gardens, and rainwater capture systems, and to use porous pavement for sidewalks, trails, and municipal-owned streets. As a champion of pedestrian issues, she believes that taking people out of the car and onto trails, bicycle paths, and sidewalks can only help our society better adjust to the increasing demands on our infrastructure. She is a member of Seattle's Pedestrian Advisory Board.

WHAT:
Peg will share her extensive design experience in pedestrian treatments for urban and residential projects. This presentation will present an overall vision for the pedestrian environment and draw on many visual examples of successful designs and how to make minor changes to improve our pedestrian-friendly streets and facilities.

***About Feet First University:
