The Contact Representative (Teleservice Representative) provides
assistance to the public via telephone, answering a wide variety of
questions by interviewing
the individual, investigating the situation and resolving the problem.
The Contact Representative requires comprehensive knowledge of SSA
programs, as
well as related Federal and State programs.  The Contact Representative
will need skills in independent analysis and problem solving using a
variety of
policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Strong computer navigation
skills are a necessity, as a majority of the work is completed by
utilizing multiple
systems and applications in order to successfully meet customer needs.

• Background and/or Security Investigation required.
• Selective Service registration for male applicants required, unless
exempt.
• Selectees required to complete a 13 week technical training class.
• Selectees required to serve a one-year probationary period.
