[nfbwatlk] BBQ At National Convention

Hi, Kay.

The short answer to all your questions is: I don't know. You've seen
exactly the same information as have I. However, I think some educated
guesses can be made.

(1) I'm almost certain that the event will be buffet-style; it would be
a logistical nightmare to have sit-down service, much as I would like
that. The banquet is tough enough; I suspect the hotel wouldn't like to
tackle it twice if it can help it.

(2) Since it's in a park, I should imagine there are picnic tables and
benches although many will probably just eat standing up or sitting on
the ground. I've no idea about tents or awnings.

Frankly, I suspect that the food will hardly be diabetic-friendly unless
you're on insulin and even then, you'd need one hell of a bolus to take
care of the carbs -- assuming you ate like one does at an
all-you-can-eat affair. Otherwise, the $35-per-person price is hardly
worth it.

Although the hotels were obviously different, perhaps those who've been
to previous Dallas convention barbecues can enlighten us. I've never
been: though I like BBQ, the price was beyond my means.
