  I'm way behind on this thread, and I assume somebody else has pointed out
  that this sort of attitude doesn't bode well for these kid's overall
  upbringing. My parents did a great job raising me overall, but I'm afraid
  there were apsects where they had some rather negative attitudes regarding
  what I could and couldn't accomplish, and I paid the price for that. And,
