Ancient Recipe

The moon is in Its proper place in the Heavens. Here then is the ancient recipe that will give back to you your youth and health.
To Begin.
Harvest one Giant Olympic Slug.
The slug can be found among the many valleys and foot hills to the Mighty Olympic Mountains.
Only harvest a slug measuring at least 3 feet in length when in its contracted position.
The most humane method of harvesting the slug is to dampen a cotton ball with real Vanilla. This causes the creature to fall into a deep, happy sleep.
Lift the slug by using a pair of disposable gloves and place it in a large pan filled with tepid water, to which you have added one quarter of a cup of
vinegar.
Under no circumstances put the slug in salt water, or allow salt to touch its skin. This causes instant melting. You do not want to see the gooey mess,
much less to have to clean it up.
Once rinsed clean, place the still sleeping slug on a large sheet of heavy duty foil. Form a boat around the body of the slug and add about three cups
of Spring water. Cover the slug with slivers of butter, cloves of garlic and any seasonings of your choice. Remember, do not add salt!
Take a second sheet of heavy duty foil and crimp it to the bottom sheet. Be certain you do a real good job. You don't want to have the little beggar wake
up and break out.
Set your oven on bake and heat it to 350 degrees.
Bake for 40 minutes. If the slug gets loose you will need to start all over.
After 40 minutes turn the oven down to 275 and leave for an additional 30 minutes.
Remove the finished product from your oven and allow to cool for about an hour before opening the foil.
Allow to completely cool and then slice in thin slices.
You may want to just pick up a slice and chomp away. The flavor is very much like a meaty mushroom. Some folks put it on Rye bread and cover it with Mayonnaise,
mustard or horse radish.
Crumbled into an omelet it adds a wonderful Earthy taste.
Some of the older folks add it to their Sea Weed or Kelp soup.
However you decide to do it, you will notice a marked difference in how you feel, almost immediately.
There is one small problem, however. The Giant Olympic Slug only grows here on the Mighty Olympic Peninsula. They must be cooked fresh in order to pass
on their magical medicinal qualities. So, shipping them is out of the question. You will need to travel to the Great Olympic Peninsula in order to regain
your youth and health.
