Trial of blind Chinese activist to start later this week, lawyer says
(AP) - BEIJING-The trial of a blind Chinese activist who helped document villagers' claims of forced abortions and sterilizations will start this week,
his lawyer said Tuesday.
Chen Guangcheng, 34, will stand trial Friday at the Jinan County Court in coastal Shandong province, said Chen's lawyer, Li Jingsong. He said he received
notice of the new trial date from the court on Monday night.
