[NFBV-Announce] No Laptops, No Worksheets, Just Fire!

Hi,

Please help pass this along to students ages 14-21 you think would jump at
the opportunity!

Dear Students,

You could spend July on the couch. You could work a shift, scroll your
phone, or do whatever you normally do when summer gets slow. That's fine. No
judgment.

Or you could spend a day this July learning how to do things like split wood
with an axe, build a fire from nothing, tie knots that actually hold and so
on. Real skills. The kind people used to learn before everything became a
tutorial on YouTube.

Project RISE is teaming up with the Scouts for an outdoor activity that has
nothing to do with resumes or classrooms. It's physical, it's loud, and it's
the kind of thing you'll actually want to tell people you did.

Here's the part worth paying attention to: this is open to RISE students all
across Virginia, and the date gets locked in based on who shows interest.
That means if you wait, the window closes. We're not going to keep asking.

If you're in, drop a quick email to rise at nfbv.org <mailto:rise at nfbv.org> by
this coming Monday, May 25. That's the whole ask. We'll follow up with
everything else once we have the numbers. We'll do our absolute best to find
a date that works for most people's schedules.

And if you know someone, blind or low vision, who would enjoy this, help us
out by passing this along.

Don't let this be the thing you heard about after it happened.

If you already responded to our first email, we've got you. No need to
respond again.

Hoping to hear from you!

Joe
