Dear Community,
This survey is intended to collect lived experiences from people with disabilities, caregivers, and allies about navigating protected bike lanes (also known as Class IV cycle tracks) and sidewalks. Many protected bike lane designs rely on physical barriers, curb separations, and delayed curb and sidewalk access. While these designs are often described as improving safety for cyclists, people with disabilities experience unsafe barriers and obstructions navigating sidewalks and streets. The Center for Independent Living Systems Change department seeks input from people with disabilities, caregivers, and allies to share their experiences regarding their safety and the accessibility of sidewalks and streets within our catchment area of Berkeley, Albany, Oakland, Piedmont, Emeryville, and Alameda.

Your Responses Will Be Used to:
Document inaccessible and unsafe sidewalks, eliminated parking and/or drop off sites, barriers in the public rights of way, lack of safe wayfinding measures to navigate streets and public transit.
