Hi Albert and Sarah,
How do I join the National Association of Blind Piano Technicians? I believe I'm still a member of the NFB, but since I moved here to attend the School of Piano Technology for the Blind, I haven't renewed it. I was a member of the Chicago chapter NFB,but I need to talk to Don about renewing it here. I'd like to join your organization and get to know other blind and vision impaired piano techs.
As for grand pianos, One idea is to get an idea on Craigs list to see what pianos are going for. Often times piano stores put ads on there. I would definitely have someone look at it for you or we can give you ideas on what to look for. If you have a budget already set up, I can possibly help you find one that you can evaluate. I did some of this piano brokering before I moved here to attend the school. The person selling the piano pays for any brokering I would do, so don't worry.
I hope this helps too. Have a Merry Christmas everyone.
