The below research participant solicitation is being provided for informational purposes only. The National Federation of the Blind has no involvement in this research, but we believe that it may contribute to our research mission.

Participants Needed for Research Study

If you are an individual who is blind or with low vision, researchers at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA, US) invite you to participate in a remote interview study. Your participation will help us design and develop accessible technology for data privacy.

We are looking for participants:

  1. Who are blind or with low vision.
  2. Who are at least 18 years of age and reside in the US.
  3. Who are willing to participate in an approximately 1.5-hour-long, audio recorded, remote interview.

Participation in this study is voluntary. Each participant will receive a $25 electronic gift card of their choice via email after completing the remote interview study.

Zoom (https://zoom.us/) is the primary communication tool for the remote interview, but we will try our best to accommodate participants if they prefer another communication tool, including telephone.

We particularly welcome diverse perspectives from individuals who are less familiar with technology and who also belong to other underrepresented groups.

If you are interested in participating, please send an email inquiry to accessibledataprivacy at andrew.cmu.edu<mailto:accessibledataprivacy at andrew.cmu.edu>.

If you have questions about the study, please contact Dr. Yuanyuan Feng at <yuanyuanfeng at cmu.edu<mailto:yuanyuanfeng at cmu.edu>> or 267-312-3760.
