Submit Applications of Bolotin Awards for Individual and Organization
Nominations
The Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards honor individuals and organizations that
are a positive force in the lives of blind people. Increasing the
independence of the blind. Creating and/or directing high quality
programs for the blind. Mentoring or inspiring other blind people to
achieve their dreams.
We are looking for nominees who:
Have broken down a barrier blind people face in an innovative way
Have changed negative perceptions of blindness and blind people
Have challenged existing boundaries to inspire blind people to
achieve new heights
The project or program nominated must be ongoing or have been in
effect throughout a twelve-month period preceding the application date.

Award Details
The National Federation of the Blind determines the total amount
available for the Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards each year based on the
trust income received. The number of awards and the amount of each
award will be determined by the NFB's Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award
Committee based on its evaluation of eligible and deserving applicants.

Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards, an award of twenty-five thousand dollars
was presented to MarileeTalkington, actor, director, and founder and
executive director of Access Acting Academy, a nonvisual training
program for blind performers with the goal of increasing
participation of the blind in arts and entertainment. A second award
of twenty-five thousand dollars was presented to Geneva Lake
Astrophysics and STEAM Education for their innovative programs to
make astronomical data and the study of astrophysics accessible to
blind people.
Sponsored by the Alfred & Rosalind Perlman Trust. Presented by the
National Federation of the Blind.
