Keep Voting and Spreading the Word to Vote for the NFB Youth Slam
Thank you to all who have voted daily in August and who told all of
their family and friends about our opportunity to win a grant of
$250,000 from the Pepsi Refresh project. As of right now, we are
sitting at number seventeen. We need to be the number one or number
two project in the rankings to win the award. But don't give up yet!
The NFB is mobilizing its resources to make a strong push to win in
September, when the 2011 NFB Youth Slam will have the same
opportunity to win $250,000 from Pepsi. We'll have flyers for
distribution at sporting events, churches, schools, etc., a new blog
to cover the movement daily, and an ever-increasing community of
supporters and partnerships to make sure that blind youth are
guaranteed access to science subjects in the classroom. An important
note: For September, we need everyone to vote daily in ALL 3 ways:
* Text Message: Simply put the number 101913 into the body of a
text, and send that text to 73774. *Standard text-messaging rates apply
* Go to
<http://www.refresheverything.com/nfbyouthslam>www.refresheverything.com/nfbyouthslam,
click the link to vote, and then choose the log in using Facebook
option. Once you're successfully logged in, click the vote button on
our page again and the vote link will disappear and you'll have
logged your vote!
* Go to
<http://www.refresheverything.com/nfbyouthslam>www.refresheverything.com/nfbyouthslam,
click the link to vote, and then choose the sign in directly with
Pepsi option.
That's 90 votes that you alone can contribute to the Youth Slam cause
in September. And don't forget about the last two days of August. Our
momentum for September will literally be jumpstarted by our work in
August. This is because our starting point for September will be
based upon our ranking at midnight on August 31st! So keep up the
good work, and be sure that others are doing the same on Facebook and
Twitter. Pass around these helpful instructions for those having
difficulty with Pepsi's site:

e-mail reminders.
