The MIABS Mosaic Vol. 6.1
June 7TH, 2026

Message from President Crouch
Welcome to the month of June. The MIABS division has been moving and grooving. I am so proud of all the work that all of our committees have been up to. Thank you to everyone who has been working hard. If you would like to get involved, please feel free to reach out and we will help you find a place that makes your voice and talents shine.
If you have something you would like to see in our Mosaics or if you have any feedback, please email miabs-president at outlook.com

Advocacy
At the beginning of May, I spoke about how the advocacy committee was taking on a new project. This project is an advocacy toolkit that students will be able to reference to ensure they are getting all of the accommodations and services they are able to.
On May 18TH, we began working on this. After a very quick two weeks, I was able to compile all of the information and Danielle was amazing and wrote what thus far has turned into a 97 page guide. I would like to give a big thank you.
We are now at the stage where we need to hear from you. Whether you are a past or current student, we need your advocacy stories. These testimonials will serve to inspire a new generation of advocates. They will reassure that students have been there and done it and they will to. Please submit your testimonial to miabs-president at outlook.com no later then June 18TH so they can be compiled in to the guide.
On June 22ND, we will be unveiling the toolkit during our advocacy committee meeting.

Announcements
The MIABS Accessible Flee Market
Yesterday during our MIABS business meeting, we voted to transition the accessible flea market in to the MIABS Market. This market will be a place where you can donate services or products to help raise funds for the division so we can continue to take our big ideas and turn them into reality. We will post information on the market once it becomes available.

The MIABS Main Stage
On June 27TH at 6:30PM we will be hosting the MIABS Main Stage virtual talent showcase. This is the time to come and show us what you got. If you are planning on singing, please make sure to have your backing track and ensure that zoom's audio settings are set to audio for musicians. This will turn off the noise cancelation so we will be able to clearly hear you and the track.
The event is free for those who wish to watch. If you wish to perform, the fee is $5. We guarantee this will be an evening of fun. Performers will be competing for prizes. We will have a registration form posted in the next 48 hours. The deadline to register will be June 24TH.

In Conclusion
Thank you for reading this weeks installment of the Mosaic. It's hard to believe that we are in our sixth month of publishing these weekly news-letters. Keep your eyes and fingers peeled for our Vice President's installment next week where she will provide updates regarding membership. For those who are attending National Convention, we hope you all have safe travels and an awesome time. Know that your federation family here in Michigan will be with you in spirit.
Let's go and build the federation!
