Saturday April 12th was the NFB of Michigan's Youth Outreach Kickoff.  It was held at Gier Community Center from 11-3.  It was a great success.  We had forty people in attendance.  WE had fifteen youth, sven mentors and four volunteers.  THe parents had a meeting were they were able to ask an orientation and mobility specialist questions.  We had a huge inflatable obstacle course, arts and crafts and a peanut pond.

We are very excited about the future of our porgram in Michigan. 
 
Information about future events
We plan to take youth to our National Convention in Dallas, Tx.  We want to expose the youth to the convention so that they will be able to help us out next year when it is in DETROIT, MI. 
We are planning to walk in the annual Bridge walk on September 1st with the NFB mascot, whozit leading the charge. 
October 10- 11 is fashion weekend.  COme learn how to model and dance and then show your new moves off on Saturday night at a formal dinner and modeling event. 
November 14-16 is our State convention in kalamozoo, MI
Nov. 22-29 is our trip to Disney.  We are going to have soooo much fun on this road trip.
 
I have included applications for youth, mentors and volunteers.. please download the one9s0 you need.  Fill it out and email it back to me. please.  You must have an application in to be able to attend any of the other events as a mentor or volunteer.  THe reason for this is we must background check all adults assoicated with the program.
