On May 17th 2006, at 9:00pm est the host of Thru Our Eyes Radio Show,
Joe Ruffalo
will have an exclusive hour long interview with Dr. Marc Maurer,
President, National
Federation of the Blind, Attorney and Executive. During the interview
Joe will be
joined by 2 co-hosts Dan Facchini President of the Northeast New Jersey
Chapter of
the National Federation of the Blind and Shafeka Haashash a 13 year old
member
who will represent her generation.

The show will be covering the history of the NFB and its philosophy, and
why the NFB.

Listen as Dr. Maurer speaks about how the National Federation of the
Blind helps
blind people achieve self-confidence and self-respect and acts as a
vehicle for
collective self-expression.

Dr. Maurer will explain many of their special services such as Materials

Did you Know:

Dr. Maurer graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in
1974.

Dr. Maurer was elected president of the Student Division of the National

Federation of the Blind in 1971 and re-elected in 1973 and 1975.

In 1981 he went into private practice in Baltimore, Maryland, where he
specialized in civil litigation and property matters.

Dr. Maurer has always been active in civic and political affairs, having
run for the
state legislature from Baltimore.

The Maurers were married in 1973, and they have two children, David
Patrick and
Dianna Marie.
