We are pleased to be able to announce the creation of a new list for blind persons who use wheelchairs, and other interested persons. Below is some information about the list and how to subscribe.

Welcome to the blind-rollers list!
This list is intended as a support / advocacy group for persons who are physically disabled in some way in addition to being blind. The list is of course also open to interested friends or family members of such persons. Topics of discussion on this list include but are not limited to issues of access, mobility,
independent living, legal rights, finding assistance or aides, and of course social and emotional concerns.

My hope is that this list can provide a forum for discussing issues not addressed anywhere else relating to blindness compounded by other physical disabilities.
Of course there are many types of disabilities and each person's situation is unique. As the name of the list implies, this forum tends to address the
needs of persons who require a wheelchair all or part of the time, or else have trouble walking. This is different from the needs of, say, a deaf-blind
individual. While deaf persons are welcome to join the list, this list is intended mainly for persons with mobility impairments.

The list is moderated by Laura Eaves. You can reach her at leaves1 at carolina.rr.com

If you have technical problems please contact either Steve Jacobson at sjacobson at nfbnet.org or David Andrews at dandrews at visi.com

To subscribe to the new list either go to:

or send e-mail to blind-rollers-request at nfbnet.org and put the word subscribe in the subject line.
