Hello,

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to an organizational meeting of the Kentucky Association of Blind Athletes, a state affiliate of the United States Association of Blind Athletes.  A group of dedicated individuals have been diligently working since September to form parnterships and draft bylaws for the memberships approval.  The mission of KABA is to increase the number and quality of compeitive world class athletic and recreational opportunities for Kentuckians whor are blind and visually impaired.

This meeting will be held Saturday, August 28 at 3:30 in the Hartford Hall Food Service Building on the campus of the Kentucky School for the Blind, 1867 Frankfort Ave.  Bylaws of the organization will be approved and an Executive Committee consisting of six Board Members will be put in place.  You must be a member of USABA to have voting rights.  We will have applications available.  Membership to USABA is $35 for athletes and $15 for volunteers, however, please fo not let these cost prohibit your attendance and contribution.  Our draft bylaws do have provisions that allow for individuals unable to afford this expense to have voting privileges.  We will also recognize the achievement of athletes this past year and establish priorities for the organization to begin raising funds to support.

Immediately preceding the organizational meeting is a judo clinic that will be held in the Langan Gymnasium (information attached).
