Many of you already know that Tabatha Wilkerson passed away this
weekend, but for those of you who didn't, I felt that you should have
a chance to read this. If you are interested in coming to the services

Tabatha Dawn Wilkerson, 22, of Louisville died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007,
at her home. Tabatha graduated from the Kentucky School for the Blind
(KSB) in 2003,
where she was active in swimming and cheerleading and track and
assistant leader for Girl Scout Troop No. 2060. She participated in
the summer enrichment
program at KSB and was a volunteer there. Tabatha was a member of the
National Federation for the Blind, won a gold medal in swimming from
the Special
Olympics and was a member of a bowling team in Louisville. She had
worked at L.C. Industries as a machine operator packaging food for the
military and
was a lifeguard at the YMCA. Tabatha was a beloved angel, a staunch
supporter for children with disabilities, a perfect swimmer, an
amazing listener, a
compulsive nail biter, the best friend and an awesome sister. She was
preceded in death by her aunt, Mary Faye Wilkinson; maternal
grandfather, Charles
Glenn Wilkerson; paternal grandparents, Ed and Veola Heifner; and
maternal great-grandparents, Aaron and Myrtle Aull and Paul Onis
Wilkerson.
Survivors include her adoptive parents, Tim and Donna Wilkerson of
Lewisport; her mother, Patricia Harris of Owensboro; her father, Larry
Heifner of Livermore;
siblings, Crystal Chapman and her husband, Chad, and their son,
Ashton, of Owensboro, Lisa Wilkerson of Owensboro, Luke Wilkerson,
Michelle Wilkerson and
Bryanna Wilkerson, all of Lewisport; her stepsister, Christina Heifner
of Owensboro; her grandmother, Carol Wilkerson of Owensboro;
grandparents, Vincent
and Barbara Brown of Maceo; her great-grandmother, Evelyn Wilkerson of
Owensboro; aunts and uncles, Terry and Patty Wilkerson, Ray and Debbie
Wilkerson,
Tony and Kaye Wilkerson, Russell Wilkerson, Steve Wilkerson, George
and Juanita Heifner, Don Heifner and Tammy and John Outlaw; and a host
of cousins and
lots of friends.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 8 p.m. and
after 10 a.m. Thursday
at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may
take the form of
donations to the Kentucky School for the Blind or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
