Katie,
I think the flyer looks really good. I would
suggest that you take out the mission (people can
see it on our website) and instead add the website
address and the email and/or phone numbers for the
board. I would also try to cut down on some of
the phrasing so you can keep it on one page. When
I read a flyer I want to see just the highlights
and where I can get more information. I think you
did a great job!
Melanie

Subject: [Nfbkabs] event at KSB
Hey guys,
I've attached flyer that will be given out at
KSB so everyone will know whats on it before hand.
Jayne suggested I list some of the questions
I've gotten this year so i'm going to try to
remember as much as I can. If people do actually
ask questions some of these might come agian
because I haven't known all the answers to
everything.
Questions
What is the difference between the NFB and ACB?
Why are there two seperate groups?
How much does it cost to join?
Whats the point in being in either group?
Why is the NFB agianst making money different
for blind people?
What does the NFB think about guide dogs?
How does the NFB feel about having voice overs
on TV shows?
What does NFB thing about sighted guide?
Why don't you all like the buzzers on cross walk
signs?
And i'm sure theres been a lot more big ones as
NFB and KABS some how manages to come up everytime
i'm at KSB.
I want to elaborate on the mentoring idea that
was mentioned as i've had more time now to put
thought into it. The idea came from the program
that is in place at national convention for new
members to have mentors. For starters I think this
is a great way for people out in the state to be
able to be involved with the events like this that
happen in louisville and also get to know newer
members. What I want to happen with this is for
members of KABS that feel comfortable doing to
contact on a regular basis the new members that
are interested. This way the have someone to walk
them through any questions they may have. Also by
ding htis we make sure no one falls through the
cracks and people that do want to get involved
know how to. This will require people to
volinteer to help though, so if you are interested
please let it be known.
Thanks everyone,
Katie
