The KABS board would like to see us holding a picnic on Sunday, May 13 at
KSB. We would like to hold the event at 6:30, with our base of operation,
as it were, in the Southside dining room.
We would like to begin the event with a short synopsis of what we are and
what we do. Nothing real heavy. We will also give some time for questions.
So be thinking of how you would answer some of the questions that would be
posed. Many of the students are interested in the differences between us
and ACB. Others will want to know what being a member really can do. Maybe
Katie could post to the list with some questions that she is often asked by
other students when she visits the campus. Or, anyone could add to the
list.
Katie has also created a flier to give the students as they leave which will
let them know who we are in a written format. She would also like to see us
get students phone numbers and e-mail and set them up with a mentor. We
hope this will give us a way to not loose them over the summer and also give
them someone they can call on with questions.
We will bring snacks and drinks of course. Anyone not on the board is
welcome to also bring snacks and drinks if they would like. All
contributions are welcome!
We would like to play some games. Those we have come up with include water
balloons and squirt guns. We would also like to play that game where you
pass along an orange or apple with your chins, to using your hands, much
like we have done at the past Halloween Parties.
Anyone having other game ideas please post to the list. We all need to
pitch in to make this one a fun thing the kids will remember through the
summer.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the event will be open to middle and high
school students. So if you know anyone else, even if they don't go to KSB,
who would be interested please invite them.
I am tired so if this is muddled or I have left anything out let me know.
Jayne
