VIB POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: SUPPLY STORE ASSOCIATE
SKILL LEVEL: SERVICE CONTRACT WORKER
DESCRIPTION: Perform stock clerk, cashier and customer service
duties
utilizing an automated point-of-sale system. Responsibilities may include
cash register operation; providing customer service and assistance with
special orders; receiving merchandise; stocking shelves; quality assurance;
material movement; other duties in support of the operation of the Base
Supply
Store.
1. Operate computerized point-of-sale system register by
scanning merchandise and entering transaction data as required to record
sale
and authorizing information.
2. Receive payment for goods purchased in the form of
government purchase cards or other authorized methods of payment. Issue
receipt
copies to customers as required.
3. Maintain transaction records and register
reconciliation
documentation.
4. Provide customer service to include providing
information to customers, answering customer inquiries, and placing customer
special
orders.
5. Maintain neat, clean and orderly store appearance.
6. Stock merchandise on shelves and displays and maintain
in a neat and orderly fashion.
7. Break down cartons and crates to restock material on
shelves and displays.
8. Operate pallet jack and other material handling
equipment to move merchandise throughout store.
9. Assist with clerical and routine office functions as
required.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED: Automated point-of-sale system; automated
inventory control system; computer; vendor catalogs and supply lists;
material
handling equipment; telephone; fax; office equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent interpersonal and verbal
communication
skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds and
stand for several hours at a time. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows
operating system and Microsoft Office software. General warehousing and or
retail
experience. Ability to perform duties independently without direct
supervision.

VIB POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: SUPPLY STORE RECEIVING CLERK
SKILL LEVEL: SERVICE CONTRACT WORKER
DESCRIPTION: Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with
receiving incoming shipments of merchandise. Perform stock clerk, cashier
and
customer service duties utilizing an automated point-of-sale system.
Responsibilities may also include cash register operation; providing
customer
service; receiving merchandise; stocking shelves; forklift operation and
material movement; other duties in support of the operation of the base
supply
center.
11. Verify correctness of incoming shipments by comparing
items
and quantities received against Purchase Orders. Check for damaged goods.
Create VIB barcode label for each item received. Identify any
discrepancies
and follow the established VIB procedure for reporting any discrepancies.
Enter receiving data into the computerized POS system. Within 24 hours of
receipt of merchandise, send copy of receiving paperwork to Accounts
Payable
Office.
12. Operate computerized point-of-sale system register by

sale and
authorizing information.
13. Receive payment for goods purchased in the form of
government vouchers, government purchase cards or other authorized methods
of
payment. Issue receipt copies to customers as required.
14. Provide customer service to include providing information
to customers and answering customer inquiries.
15. Maintain displays and merchandise in storage locations in
a
neat, clean and orderly fashion.
16. Restock material on shelves and displays, to include
applying VIB barcode label to all merchandise before it is put on the
shelf.
17. Operate forklift, pallet jack and other material handling
equipment to load and unload trucks and move merchandise throughout store.
18. Assist with clerical and routine office functions as
required.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.
