Give Us a Hand—Volunteers Still Needed
You can help make convention a big success by volunteering a couple of hours at our Independence Market and Federation Free Reads table. The Federation Free Reads, formerly known as the Free Literature, tables are a place for convention attendees to learn about the National Federation of the Blind and the lived experiences of blind people by browsing and choosing from a sample of our literature.
We are seeking volunteers who are familiar with our literature to help attendees find what they’re looking for, answer their questions, and make recommendations on what to pick up for reading. Also, we are currently looking for people to serve as product demonstrators at the NFB Independence Market on Thursday afternoon from 12:45 to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday during the lunch shift from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m.
Sign up to volunteer for either of the above by submitting the Independence Market Volunteer Form <https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=39427&qid=11456460> .
Thank you to everyone who has signed up thus far. Learn about other volunteer opportunities <https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=39426&qid=11456460> .
Movement Challenge
We are participating in two exciting run/walk events this fall. We’re hitting both coasts in a powerful show of strength, solidarity, and movement. To build excitement around these events, we are inviting everyone to join our Coast-to-Coast Movement Challenge at Convention. Whether you are attending in person or from home, your steps count.
Walk the equivalent of a half marathon (26,100 steps) or a full marathon (52,200 steps) during convention week and help us generate energy around our coast-to-coast campaign. You can even include the steps you log during the National Association of Blind Students walkathon. Stay tuned for more information about how to share your accomplishments.
Welcome the U.S. Access Board
